Europe_Winners

Berlin, April 3rd, 2009 – Red Herring today announced that Qoof Ltd. was named a WINNER of the Red Herring 100 Europe, an award given to the top 100 private technology companies based in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region each year.

“During a difficult year, Red Herring still received an impressive list of submissions from companies across the EMEA region, clearly demonstrating Europe’s role as a major center of innovation in the global technology sector,” said Red Herring Managing Director, Farley Duvall. “The exceptional accomplishments of European technology startups and entrepreneurs are a testament to the rapid advancements being made in building the European innovation ecosystem.”

Red Herring’s lists of top private companies are an important part of the publication’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google, eBay, and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work.

Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated several hundred private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development.

Red Herring has honored the Red Herring 100 Europe Finalist companies at its Red Herring Europe 2009 Conference, which was held March 31- April 2, at the Berlin Radisson Hotel. This intimate, 2 1/2 day event will explore how European firms are leading the charge in many technology sectors, gaining a competitive advantage, and driving entrepreneurial success in ways that create business opportunities for challengers and incumbents alike.

“Qoof currently offers the most robust solution for Fortune 1000 companies looking to increase sales with video”, says Richard Kligman, Founder and Executive Chairman of Qoof, “In tough economic times, retailers are looking to both increase sales and utilize the power of video to do so; for them Qoof is the answer.”

Qoof - a savvy blend of video, portable widgets and instant communication

April 6th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized, video commerce by Xavier Casanova

A few weeks ago, during a webinar on video commerce, Kevin Ertell exposed some interesting ideas on the future of online retail, pointing out to the emergence of distributed shopping. Kevin told the story of how Tower Records was making significant money selling CDs and music products at local concerts - from a simple table stand with just a couple of employees. He then drew a parallel with the online world, outlining his vision for decentralized shopping experiences where users can browse and buy products from their community site via widgets.

In the context of video, Qoof is certainly an interesting implementation of a shopping widget. Both a video production and technology company based in Los Angeles (CA) Qoof actually goes as far as defining its widget as “a video commerce platform”, since video is at the core of the solution. Arguably, the Qoof widget features some unique communication tools (Instant messaging and Skype) which enable real-time communications with an actual sales person. You can see the widget in action on the Paragon Sports homepage:

Product videos gain popularity among consumers and retailers

Another great article about "Video Commerce".

Qoof was the first to use the term "Video Commerce" in it's current form to mean using video to sell products online and we are happy to see others are using this term now as well.

Product videos are increasingly being used by online retailers and, according to recent research, many plan to implement this most engaging and evolving marketing tool over the coming year.

A great article and numbers on retailers using video in 2009. Qoof leading the way in Video Commerce is looking forward to an amazing year

In this article published by ReelSEO, they talk about the year to come in video commerce with some great stats.

Ecommerce Video Will Take Off in 2009 - New Report Shows that Product Videos Work!

We know how effective online video marketing and video advertising can be for various industries and sectors across the board.  One reason for this is that video can bring brands, products and services to life in a way that text and static images simply cannnot.  As a result, we see that online video tends to offer high conversion rates as it offers a more compelling experience for users and can often provide the neccessary last push that a customer needs to actually make a purchase.

With the retail sector, a few companies have experiemented with product video marketing as another method to drive sales and traffic to their ecommerce sites. According to research from Internet Retailer, less than 60% of retailers surveyed had video on their websites in 2008. However, online merchants are making search engine optimization and video their top web site design priorities for 2009, with 43.3% of merchants stating that they will update their e-commerce sites with video this year.

Qoof mentioned in VentureBeat article on overlay technology in Video

Venturebeat_banner It's always great when your company is mentioned in an article, especially by a mainstream blog like VentureBeat. VentureBeat was covering an article on Overlay.tv and their recent raise of $4.6 Million. When talking about video commerce, they couldn't help but say this about Qoof:

And there’s Qoof, which focuses purely on publishers inserting sales information into videos. So for instance, a snowboard retailer could have one of its salespeople explain how to use snowboards, while inserted info in the video shows how to buy them, how much they cost, and how they compare with other snowboards (see demo currently on bottom of Qoof’s home page).

Also mentioned in the article are fellow video companies including VideoClix & BubblePLY. Always great to be mentioned in such great company.
